( #3333=superdoc: print w/replies, xml ) Need Help??
Well then. I only have 2 requests.

I agree, we have a right to critique perl up and down the line. Let's continue to do that. If it gives perspective, ruby has been around for ages, and it started hitting critical mass only 2 years ago? I could imagine perl6 doing the same should the popularity diminish. There are a lot of good ideas there.

Secondly, unless specifically someone is calling you out, show us all a level of respect. Blanket statements about us and what not, then picking at those who reply, or seek help, puts us on edge. I'm not asking you to pipe down and take abuse from anyone. Just be mindful, we're all not out to get you. :)

That's all I got for this thread. Peace.

Title:
Use:  <p> text here (a paragraph) </p>
and:  <code> code here </code>
to format your post; it's "PerlMonks-approved HTML":

  • Are you posting in the right place? Check out Where do I post X? to know for sure.
  • Posts may use any of the Perl Monks Approved HTML tags. Currently these include the following:
    <code> <a> <b> <big> <blockquote> <br /> <dd> <dl> <dt> <em> <font> <h1> <h2> <h3> <h4> <h5> <h6> <hr /> <i> <li> <nbsp> <ol> <p> <small> <strike> <strong> <table> <td> <th> <tr> <tt> <u> <ul>
  • Snippets of code should be wrapped in <code> tags not <pre> tags. In fact, <pre> tags should generally be avoided. If they must be used, extreme care should be taken to ensure that their contents do not have long lines (<70 chars), in order to prevent horizontal scrolling (and possible janitor intervention).
  • Want more info? How to link or How to display code and escape characters are good places to start.
