( [id://3333]=superdoc: print w/replies, xml ) Need Help??
Every so often something like Map places, people, and relationships inside a building with open source software comes along and I'd like to give it more exposure in the Monastery. But, short of opening a SoPW item ("Has anyone else read Item xxxx? What do you think?"), I don't know of another way to give a Perl News item a wider audience. I think this is the thing that the 'Front Page' option is intended to provide, but FP is not an option for News; would it possible to add FP to news-items? (Note: I do not know how big a can-of-worms I am opening here. I would hope that "Front-Page" is a simple setting available at the individual node level. But, if it a function of a category of nodes (SoPW, Discussion, Poetry, etc.), then I can see why it would be more difficult to add the ability. I have not poked around the Code&Doc enough to know.)

Comments? Brick-bats?

Title:
Use:  <p> text here (a paragraph) </p>
and:  <code> code here </code>
to format your post; it's "PerlMonks-approved HTML":

  • Are you posting in the right place? Check out Where do I post X? to know for sure.
  • Posts may use any of the Perl Monks Approved HTML tags. Currently these include the following:
    <code> <a> <b> <big> <blockquote> <br /> <dd> <dl> <dt> <em> <font> <h1> <h2> <h3> <h4> <h5> <h6> <hr /> <i> <li> <nbsp> <ol> <p> <small> <strike> <strong> <table> <td> <th> <tr> <tt> <u> <ul>
  • Snippets of code should be wrapped in <code> tags not <pre> tags. In fact, <pre> tags should generally be avoided. If they must be used, extreme care should be taken to ensure that their contents do not have long lines (<70 chars), in order to prevent horizontal scrolling (and possible janitor intervention).
  • Want more info? How to link or How to display code and escape characters are good places to start.
