First, read How do I create a Poll?. Then suggest your poll here.

Good idea to start a new quest, because the old one was decidedly overgrown, but how 'bout including a direct link to it anyway?

Complete ideas are more likely to be used.

Well, it's not complete due to me not being very expert in this area, but I expect knowledgeable people to give helpful contributions...

Since I misunderstood the last poll myself and others mentioned other famous doctors from various tv series or movies, how about another poll with a title, as a pun, identical to the former one, or perhaps with a lowercase "d", as follows?

The best Doctor:

Other suggestions?

Update: added Moriarty's suggestions. Incidentally, while searching Wikipedia for his suggested entries, I found a list of fictional doctors, that may be helpful: time permitting I'm browsing it later. Unfortunately, I couldn't find Dr. Kildare there...

Update: added anonymonk's suggestion as long as two other ideas of mine.

Update: added planetscape's suggestion.

Update: added girarde's suggestion.

Update: added DutchCoder 's suggestion. But if we're beginning to add singers and groups I don't know where we could end up. How 'bout Dr. Feelgood?

Update: added ryanc's suggestion.

Update: added Lady_Aleena's and jdporter's suggestions, as well as an option of mine. Also included the link for Dr. Kildare, which funnily enough I couldn't fine, which in turn is very strange since its wp entry is there since September 2nd, 2006!

Update: added anonymonk's suggestion.

Update: [Mon Dec 3 17:58:49 2007] added tubaandy's suggestion.

Update: [Thu Dec 6 21:25:57 2007] added bdimych's suggestion. (Incidentally, thank you for the direct links, but FWIW you can use the Monastery's shortcuts instead of hardcoding a tags, check the source of this very node to see how!)

Update: [Mon Dec 31 15:34:09 2007] added Onur's suggestion. Also see the comment in parentheses in the previous update, which applies to you as well.

Update: [Mon Feb 11 14:21:11 2008] added AKSHUN's suggestion and those of rgiskard and KSURi.

Update: [Fri Apr 25 16:38:18 2008] added papidave's suggestion.

Title:
Use:  <p> text here (a paragraph) </p>
and:  <code> code here </code>
to format your post; it's "PerlMonks-approved HTML":

  • Are you posting in the right place? Check out Where do I post X? to know for sure.
  • Posts may use any of the Perl Monks Approved HTML tags. Currently these include the following:
    <code> <a> <b> <big> <blockquote> <br /> <dd> <dl> <dt> <em> <font> <h1> <h2> <h3> <h4> <h5> <h6> <hr /> <i> <li> <nbsp> <ol> <p> <small> <strike> <strong> <table> <td> <th> <tr> <tt> <u> <ul>
  • Snippets of code should be wrapped in <code> tags not <pre> tags. In fact, <pre> tags should generally be avoided. If they must be used, extreme care should be taken to ensure that their contents do not have long lines (<70 chars), in order to prevent horizontal scrolling (and possible janitor intervention).
  • Want more info? How to link or How to display code and escape characters are good places to start.
