How is get_elements filling @source and
@destination if they're not being passed to it
and they're lexical variables with visibility only in
your loop?
It might help to see more of the code.

tags should generally be avoided. If they must
be used, extreme care should be
taken to ensure that their contents do not
have long lines (<70 chars), in order to prevent
horizontal scrolling (and possible janitor
intervention).
