Well if you are using param() from the CGI module, then readin the POST data will probably screw something up.
Try this:
use CGI qw( param );
...
sub save_information {
my $text1 = param('text1');
my $text2 = param('text2');
open(INFO, ">>testing123.txt"); # Open for appending
print INFO "$text1 , $text2\n";
close (INFO);
print <<END;
<HTML>
<BODY>
<P><H1><B>Thank you for saving your file...</B></H1><P>
</BODY>
</HTML>
END
}
If that doesn't fix it, then post your HTML form that is doing the submitting and the problem could be in there.

Posts may use any of the Perl Monks Approved HTML tags. Currently these include the following:
<code> <a> <b> <big>
<blockquote> <br /> <dd>
<dl> <dt> <em> <font>
<h1> <h2> <h3> <h4>
<h5> <h6> <hr /> <i>
<li> <nbsp> <ol> <p>
<small> <strike> <strong>
  <table>
<td> <th> <tr> <tt>
<u> <ul>
-
Snippets of code should be wrapped in
<code> tags not
<pre> tags. In fact, <pre>
tags should generally be avoided. If they must
be used, extreme care should be
taken to ensure that their contents do not
have long lines (<70 chars), in order to prevent
horizontal scrolling (and possible janitor
intervention).
