Could you assist me in expanding the following into something understandable:
# Create a user agent object
use LWP::UserAgent; # why this instead of use LWP; ?
$ua = LWP::UserAgent->new; #what's happening here?, in particular, who
+ are the functions, who are the arguments and who are the results?
$ua->agent("MyApp/0.1 "); # what is agent("...") and why is it needed?
# Pretty much the same for the rest of this example.
# Create a request
my $req = HTTP::Request->new(POST => 'http://www.perl.com/cgi-bin/BugG
+limpse');
$req->content_type('application/x-www-form-urlencoded');
$req->content('match=www&errors=0');
# Pass request to the user agent and get a response back
my $res = $ua->request($req);
# Check the outcome of the response
if ($res->is_success) {
print $res->content;
} else {
print "Bad luck this time\n";
}
update (broquaint): added <code> tags

Are you posting in the right place? Check out Where do I post X? to know for sure.

Posts may use any of the Perl Monks Approved HTML tags. Currently these include the following:
<code> <a> <b> <big>
<blockquote> <br /> <dd>
<dl> <dt> <em> <font>
<h1> <h2> <h3> <h4>
<h5> <h6> <hr /> <i>
<li> <nbsp> <ol> <p>
<small> <strike> <strong>
  <table>
<td> <th> <tr> <tt>
<u> <ul>
-
Snippets of code should be wrapped in
<code> tags not
<pre> tags. In fact, <pre>
tags should generally be avoided. If they must
be used, extreme care should be
taken to ensure that their contents do not
have long lines (<70 chars), in order to prevent
horizontal scrolling (and possible janitor
intervention).
