( [id://3333]=superdoc: print w/replies, xml ) Need Help??
Hi,

I have ascript that renames images coming from a camera (placed in /home/httpd/htdocs/image.jpg) to the date of the image (2003_8_3_16_34_43.jpg) and then place the images in a new directory in /home/me/images/2003_8_3_16_34_43.jpg.

I would like to insert the images header into MySQL. (image_name, image_size, and image_date_modified). how do i do this. i have put a script together, but how do i get the image information to be sent to MySQL. please help.

use DBI; ############################################################ # Connect to Database Named cctvimages on the localhost with the roo +t user # # $dbh=DBI->connect(DBI:mysql;$database", $user, $password); ############################################################ my $dbh = DBI->connect("DBI:mysql:database=cctvimages; host=localhost" +, "xxxx", "xxx", {'RaiseError' => 1}); ############################################################ # Insert the image_name, image_size and the image_date_modified to ima +geheader table# # with the values from renamed images coming from /home/me/images/ + # ############################################################ $statement = "INSERT INTO imageheader (image_name, image_size, image_date_modified) VALUES ('$image_name', '$image_size', '$image_date_modified')"; $sth = $dbh->prepare($statement) or die "Can't prepare $statement: " . + $dbh->errstr . "\n"; $sth->execute or die "Can't execute the query: " . $dbh->errstr . "\n" +; $sth->finish; $dbh->disconnect();

Mel

to format your post; it's "PerlMonks-approved HTML":

  • Are you posting in the right place? Check out Where do I post X? to know for sure.
  • Posts may use any of the Perl Monks Approved HTML tags. Currently these include the following:
    <code> <a> <b> <big> <blockquote> <br /> <dd> <dl> <dt> <em> <font> <h1> <h2> <h3> <h4> <h5> <h6> <hr /> <i> <li> <nbsp> <ol> <p> <small> <strike> <strong>   <table> <td> <th> <tr> <tt> <u> <ul>
  • Snippets of code should be wrapped in <code> tags not <pre> tags. In fact, <pre> tags should generally be avoided. If they must be used, extreme care should be taken to ensure that their contents do not have long lines (<70 chars), in order to prevent horizontal scrolling (and possible janitor intervention).
