chromatic is dead-on. Why start all over?

Why not work on the social-end of Perl Monks, and start a movement to use the site in a manner that puts the least amount of strain on the server?

Turn off monk quips and images, don't use Newest Nodes for bouncing on the chatterbox, etc. Get your friends to do it. Make it a source of pride. "I didn't strain the server today!"

Snippets of code should be wrapped in <code> tags not <pre> tags. In fact, <pre> tags should generally be avoided. If they must be used, extreme care should be taken to ensure that their contents do not have long lines (<70 chars), in order to prevent horizontal scrolling (and possible janitor intervention).
