Maybe the 'popularity' thing is just one of those January hiccups. You know, when I go to the gym now, there's all these New Year Resolutionists and I can see it in their face. "This is the year I'm gettin' in shape!" Well, unfortunately it doesn't always stick.
Maybe there's lots a junior web dev's out there saying "This is the year I'm gonna learn Perl!". Hopefully it will stick.

Posts may use any of the Perl Monks Approved HTML tags. Currently these include the following:
<code> <a> <b> <big>
<blockquote> <br /> <dd>
<dl> <dt> <em> <font>
<h1> <h2> <h3> <h4>
<h5> <h6> <hr /> <i>
<li> <nbsp> <ol> <p>
<small> <strike> <strong>
  <table>
<td> <th> <tr> <tt>
<u> <ul>
-
Snippets of code should be wrapped in
<code> tags not
<pre> tags. In fact, <pre>
tags should generally be avoided. If they must
be used, extreme care should be
taken to ensure that their contents do not
have long lines (<70 chars), in order to prevent
horizontal scrolling (and possible janitor
intervention).
