Greetings!!

I have noticed that when I first connect via my browser to The Monastery Gates, I do not appear in the list of lurkers. However, if I just jump to another node, like my homenode or Newest Nodes, I will appear in the list of other users. Additionally, I might click the talk button in the Chatterbox to refresh the screen.

This is assumption... it may have something to do with the timing of the cookies being read and updated in the database. Refresh and you should see your name.
