( #3333=superdoc: print w/replies, xml ) Need Help??

Ummm... This is waaay offtopic, and I don't know if I should be answering this at all, as it has no relevance to Perl what-so-ever, but at the risk of precious karma (Did i say karma? I meant XP... Way too much time on Slashdot) I would like to express my feelings about Haiku poetry nowadays.

Haiku is too easy to write

Which leads to lots and lots of bad poetry. I mean this can be reffered as Haiku (as it fits 5-7-5 Haiku rule):

Writing some Perl poems,
    Looking for big Perlmonks fame,
        So far I only fail.

However this is not a good haiku. It is actually a terrible haiku which took me only about two minutes to write.

This explains my view on the subject in more detail, however it only reffers to joke haiku. I think it applies to all haiku.

Sorry for this offtopic. I tried to keep it as close to Perl as possible by writting a bad haiku about Perl has nice stuff about haikus...

Use:  <p> text here (a paragraph) </p>
and:  <code> code here </code>
to format your post; it's "PerlMonks-approved HTML":

  • Are you posting in the right place? Check out Where do I post X? to know for sure.
  • Posts may use any of the Perl Monks Approved HTML tags. Currently these include the following:
    <code> <a> <b> <big> <blockquote> <br /> <dd> <dl> <dt> <em> <font> <h1> <h2> <h3> <h4> <h5> <h6> <hr /> <i> <li> <nbsp> <ol> <p> <small> <strike> <strong> <table> <td> <th> <tr> <tt> <u> <ul>
  • Snippets of code should be wrapped in <code> tags not <pre> tags. In fact, <pre> tags should generally be avoided. If they must be used, extreme care should be taken to ensure that their contents do not have long lines (<70 chars), in order to prevent horizontal scrolling (and possible janitor intervention).
  • Want more info? How to link or or How to display code and escape characters are good places to start.
