As a sysadmin, I have to be overwhelmingly convinced that you know what you're doing before you put an app that runs in an infinite loop on one of my servers. I'll also ask you to give me a way to gracefully terminate your app, and a way to monitor it to see if it's really doing what it's supposed to. If you're running things at home on your development box, that's one thing. If you're becoming part of my production environment, your app better mind it's manners.

Posts may use any of the Perl Monks Approved HTML tags. Currently these include the following:
<code> <a> <b> <big>
<blockquote> <br /> <dd>
<dl> <dt> <em> <font>
<h1> <h2> <h3> <h4>
<h5> <h6> <hr /> <i>
<li> <nbsp> <ol> <p>
<small> <strike> <strong>
  <table>
<td> <th> <tr> <tt>
<u> <ul>
-
Snippets of code should be wrapped in
<code> tags not
<pre> tags. In fact, <pre>
tags should generally be avoided. If they must
be used, extreme care should be
taken to ensure that their contents do not
have long lines (<70 chars), in order to prevent
horizontal scrolling (and possible janitor
intervention).
