I am curious why you accuse me of having an abusive personality. I occasionally express things in a very strong fashion, sometimes intentionally and sometimes not. But I have a general belief that people really can improve. Indeed I have expressed exactly that belief about you in past discussion. By contrast merlyn every so often explains that he thinks some people simply should not be programmers, they don't have what it takes.

So our respective positions as I see it are diametrically opposed from what your position appears to be, and so I am wondering how you came to your current opinion.

Title:
Use:  <p> text here (a paragraph) </p>
and:  <code> code here </code>
to format your post; it's "PerlMonks-approved HTML":

  • Are you posting in the right place? Check out Where do I post X? to know for sure.
  • Posts may use any of the Perl Monks Approved HTML tags. Currently these include the following:
    <code> <a> <b> <big> <blockquote> <br /> <dd> <dl> <dt> <em> <font> <h1> <h2> <h3> <h4> <h5> <h6> <hr /> <i> <li> <nbsp> <ol> <p> <small> <strike> <strong> <table> <td> <th> <tr> <tt> <u> <ul>
  • Snippets of code should be wrapped in <code> tags not <pre> tags. In fact, <pre> tags should generally be avoided. If they must be used, extreme care should be taken to ensure that their contents do not have long lines (<70 chars), in order to prevent horizontal scrolling (and possible janitor intervention).
