( [id://3333]=superdoc: print w/replies, xml ) Need Help??

This was a no-brainer for me. I want to lose some weight. Now, I'm not terribly overweight, I just have a few extra pounds to lose and they're bugging the heck out of me. I've never been particularly large. Heck, at one point, I was homeless¹ and weighed a little over 120 pounds! (I was 5'10).

So, having a couple of extra pounds, I decided to go on a diet. Unfortunately, my personal "Christmas Curse" kicked in. When I was a little kid, I wanted toys. I got clothes. When I was a teenager, I wanted clothes. I got toys. I'm an adult (well - sort of ;), all of my friends know I'm dieting. I get gourmet chocolates, homemade cookies and multiple invitations for fat-laden dinner parties.

I can't win.

Cheers,
Ovid

1. I was homeless in Hawaii, of all places. Before you say, like so many other people, "Oh, but it was Hawaii", I have just two words for you: try it. I lost so much weight that I was a walking skeleton, but I had a killer tan. Think The Grim Reaper after a vacation in the tropics.

Title:
Use:  <p> text here (a paragraph) </p>
and:  <code> code here </code>
to format your post; it's "PerlMonks-approved HTML":

  • Are you posting in the right place? Check out Where do I post X? to know for sure.
  • Posts may use any of the Perl Monks Approved HTML tags. Currently these include the following:
    <code> <a> <b> <big> <blockquote> <br /> <dd> <dl> <dt> <em> <font> <h1> <h2> <h3> <h4> <h5> <h6> <hr /> <i> <li> <nbsp> <ol> <p> <small> <strike> <strong> <table> <td> <th> <tr> <tt> <u> <ul>
  • Snippets of code should be wrapped in <code> tags not <pre> tags. In fact, <pre> tags should generally be avoided. If they must be used, extreme care should be taken to ensure that their contents do not have long lines (<70 chars), in order to prevent horizontal scrolling (and possible janitor intervention).
  • Want more info? How to link or How to display code and escape characters are good places to start.
