I downvoted this for several reasons, many of which would suffice on their own.
- It contains an ad hominem attack unrelated to the issue at hand.
- It has nothing to do with Perl or the Monastery.
- It is a personal disagreement aired in public for no apparent benefit.
- It does not belong as a top-level post.
Besides that, I object to your selective misquoting of my earlier post, in an apparent attempt to legitimize your post. I do not care if you and merlyn have a personal disagreement, as long as you both handle yourselves with decorum in public. This counts as a public situation.
In the future, please leave me out of these posts, if you really must make them.

Posts may use any of the Perl Monks Approved HTML tags. Currently these include the following:
<code> <a> <b> <big>
<blockquote> <br /> <dd>
<dl> <dt> <em> <font>
<h1> <h2> <h3> <h4>
<h5> <h6> <hr /> <i>
<li> <nbsp> <ol> <p>
<small> <strike> <strong>
  <table>
<td> <th> <tr> <tt>
<u> <ul>
-
Snippets of code should be wrapped in
<code> tags not
<pre> tags. In fact, <pre>
tags should generally be avoided. If they must
be used, extreme care should be
taken to ensure that their contents do not
have long lines (<70 chars), in order to prevent
horizontal scrolling (and possible janitor
intervention).
