I was referring to: http://www.perlmonks.org/?node=Perl%20News. The first in the list on that page "Perl News" refers to http://perlnews.org, which states:
We’ve closed down Perl news. There are a couple of reasons:
- There are plenty of other places to get Perl news
- The (small) team who started this site are far too busy elsewhere to give this project the attention it needs.

<pre> tags. In fact, <pre>
tags should generally be avoided. If they must
be used, extreme care should be
taken to ensure that their contents do not
have long lines (<70 chars), in order to prevent
horizontal scrolling (and possible janitor
intervention).
