Simple DBI search
You say "search" but are using WHERE for exact matches. Are you sure you don't mean LIKE?
Otherwise, you'll have to provide an SSCCE that reproduces this behavior, because I don't really see anything wrong with the code snippet you've shown, and you haven't shown any sample data.

Snippets of code should be wrapped in
<code> tags not
<pre> tags. In fact, <pre>
tags should generally be avoided. If they must
be used, extreme care should be
taken to ensure that their contents do not
have long lines (<70 chars), in order to prevent
horizontal scrolling (and possible janitor
intervention).
