The fact that [...] resolves each time to a new AV was used as argument against being literal.
Obviously most "literals" are not treated the way constants are. (with the exception of undef)

<pre> tags. In fact, <pre>
tags should generally be avoided. If they must
be used, extreme care should be

have long lines (<70 chars), in order to prevent
horizontal scrolling (and possible janitor
intervention).
