Firstly, I have no problems with what you've written.
I did just want to clarify that I wasn't advocating the introduction of a Show/Hide mechanism;
rather, that I would "support (at least in principle)" a proposal to do so.
To be honest, I only very rarely want to hide <spoiler> content after I've revealed it
— the last time was probably more than a year ago —
so, for me personally, the absence of a Show/Hide mechanism is of little concern.

<pre> tags. In fact, <pre>
tags should generally be avoided. If they must
be used, extreme care should be
taken to ensure that their contents do not
have long lines (<70 chars), in order to prevent
horizontal scrolling (and possible janitor
intervention).
