It looks like volume has dramatically decreased a lot in last few years.
Everyone is way too busy reinventing wheels in this vast profusion of incompatible computer languages we now experience. Everyone else is still using Perl and evolving it to take advantage of the situation with miracles like Inline, FFI and Alien. Perl may be that extra special sauce capable of miraculously duct taping it all together.

tags should generally be avoided. If they must
be used, extreme care should be

have long lines (<70 chars), in order to prevent
horizontal scrolling (and possible janitor
intervention).
