Your statement is of big "political" importance and PM is one of the main media of the community.
A PerlMonks community who has time and time again made me feel unwelcome. So I don't see the big political importance. if anything, what I say here has proven to be not very important.

I always fought hard to keep this community open for diverse opinions and constructive discussions and am sad when the system folds to trolling.
I know your pain. I am also sad that I had to "fold" from my views, in order to get Perl 6 renamed. I think we are in a new reality now, where forces in the communities want to distance themselves from each other. I have given in to these forces now. If anything, my remarks were intended to allow more rest in the monastery.

So out of respect to us who played fair, please bother for 5 minutes to get your password mailed.
So done, and now I will immediately delete that mail again. I don't intend to come back here. I wish the PerlMonks and the Perl 5 community best of luck in their future endeavours. I'm no longer part of them anymore.

Use:  <p> text here (a paragraph) </p>
and:  <code> code here </code>
to format your post; it's "PerlMonks-approved HTML":

  • Are you posting in the right place? Check out Where do I post X? to know for sure.
  • Posts may use any of the Perl Monks Approved HTML tags. Currently these include the following:
    <code> <a> <b> <big> <blockquote> <br /> <dd> <dl> <dt> <em> <font> <h1> <h2> <h3> <h4> <h5> <h6> <hr /> <i> <li> <nbsp> <ol> <p> <small> <strike> <strong> <table> <td> <th> <tr> <tt> <u> <ul>
  • Snippets of code should be wrapped in <code> tags not <pre> tags. In fact, <pre> tags should generally be avoided. If they must be used, extreme care should be taken to ensure that their contents do not have long lines (<70 chars), in order to prevent horizontal scrolling (and possible janitor intervention).
  • Want more info? How to link or How to display code and escape characters are good places to start.
