( [id://3333]=superdoc: print w/replies, xml ) Need Help??

From what I understand in this thread, lots of people see benefits in redesigning the site - what I can't seem to find is some good reasons for not doing it.

If people in charge would give me access to perlmonks codebase, I'd take time and do it myself. Regarding the final theme, I think a poll would be more than welcome

Funny that

Maybe you should read more closely the discussions I and others (especially the OP) linked, and note when tye and other gods or pmdev are talking -- sure its a lot of stuff, but its a lot of stuff :) for example Re: Why PM does not need web stats, Re: RFC: PerlMonks above the fold navigation (size)

I don't have a node handy that explains how it all works ( PerlMonks FAQ, Can I get the PerlMonks source code? ) but it is unlikely you could join gods , even pmdev has requirements you currently don't satisfy

Use:  <p> text here (a paragraph) </p>
and:  <code> code here </code>
to format your post; it's "PerlMonks-approved HTML":

  • Are you posting in the right place? Check out Where do I post X? to know for sure.
  • Posts may use any of the Perl Monks Approved HTML tags. Currently these include the following:
    <code> <a> <b> <big> <blockquote> <br /> <dd> <dl> <dt> <em> <font> <h1> <h2> <h3> <h4> <h5> <h6> <hr /> <i> <li> <nbsp> <ol> <p> <small> <strike> <strong> <table> <td> <th> <tr> <tt> <u> <ul>
  • Snippets of code should be wrapped in <code> tags not <pre> tags. In fact, <pre> tags should generally be avoided. If they must be used, extreme care should be taken to ensure that their contents do not have long lines (<70 chars), in order to prevent horizontal scrolling (and possible janitor intervention).
  • Want more info? How to link or How to display code and escape characters are good places to start.
