The card. Why is it that most women could receive a diamond pendant necklace, a dozen red roses, and a day at a spa, but they'll get snippy if you don't get a card and Feed the Beast That Is Hallmark? One of the things that makes my current SO is so wonderful is that she doesn't believe in all that balderdash, but she still appreciates it if I do it.
