Get dates with Perl

by BorgCopyeditor (Friar)
on Jan 27, 2004 at 23:54 UTC ( [id://324576]=perlnews: print w/replies, xml ) Need Help??

Today's Village Voice is carrying a sidebar personal ad from a gentleman named 'flunx' with the following caption.
More about what I am looking for: "I'm looking for a woman who can compare and contrast Python and PERL, or at least knows what they are."

Too bad he had to write 'PERL.' Also, the ads are rotated automatically, so you may not see this one in the linked page.

Any other sightings of Perl in the mass media? Furthermore, do you / would you date someone who uses Perl?

(Thankyou, thankyou. I'm here all week, please, try the fish :-)

    perl -le "print unpack'N', pack'B32', '00000000000000000000001010111001'"

I don't know if I'd want a perl hacker for my significant other, there are already enough things in life to argue about

    A: "Gahhh! You're always using'tr///'.....
B: "I don't know what you mean Mr Bubblesort ....."
    ...
    etcetera etcetera :)
    .

And in the "If it's good enough for Merlyn" category :) - here's how to fill an entire calendar of your choosing 324540

      You're probably right,

I get more then enough warnings as it is on my average date... Maybe I'm just not strict enough?
Besides, a real perlgirl would probably look at my code and run away crying, laughing or both.

Furthermore, do you / would you date someone who uses Perl?
And if you do date someone who doesn't know Perl, would you go for a second date if (s)he doesn't know what Perl is after the first date?
