too true.

was reading the other day that Apple and IBM came this |<->| close to joining forces all those years ago.. I wonder how different things would really be..

    In the Apple world it's Barebones BBEdit (it doesn't suck ®) which rules supreme. No Windows or Linux versions available though... shame as it's what I use and it's crackin' :)

    Gotta pay to get the full version, but a limited version is available for free.

    Update: As Nkuvu pointed out the Lite version is no longer available but a fully functioning Demo version for 30 days is... shame...

      BBEdit Lite is no longer offered by Barebones. You can still find copies of it floating around on the web, but Barebones only offers the commercial version now.

      And I use emacs on my Mac. I also use emacs at work (on Win2K). I like cross platform editors.
