    Calling it "pseudo-code" doesn't fix the mistakes.
    There are no mistakes. It's obviously incomplete on purpose and there is nothing wrong with that (it should still help the original poster).

  • just trying to put the basic structure out there, since that's where he seems to be hung up
  • if he can't open his own files, he's doomed anyway
  • if he doesn't know his own split char, he's doomed anyway
  • if he can't debug a snippet of code, he's doomed anyway
  • If everything has to be perfect for you before posting, forget it.
  • The I's may not be dotted and the T's not crossed, but is the logic essentially correct?
