The problem is that Carp is a core-only module, so we cannot update Carp to v1.01 without updating the whole Perl installation...

That's simply not true -- read perlmodinstall

Which part of that pod? That about Decompressing or Unpacking a .tar.gz? I checked again, there is no standalone Carp at http://www.cpan.org/modules/by-module/Carp/. _Search, Ask, ^Know	[reply]
