What's on Anonymous Monk's Head?

It's bothered me for too long now, and I can no longer resist the curiousity. What is on Anonymous Monk's head on his/her homenode pic? I ran a Super Search for "Anonymous Monk" picture head and "Anonymous Monk" hat but came up empty.

To me, it looks like a small dog or, maybe, a bird. I know the answer is going to be obvious and will result in me slapping my forehead, but I just have to know. Am I the only person who (has wondered|is wondering) about this?

      Nah, it's a penguin. cowboyneal had the photo and a description on his old site. Now he's gone all MovableType on us and the photo has gone.

    Amazingly when i went to the anonmyous monks node, the unsilohetted version appeared up the top right, and it is indeed a penguin adorning the head of the monk. :)
