Monastery Brewery?

This is nothing more than commercial advertising.

I agree, but it's Perl related.

I don't have any interest seeing such ads on perlmonks.

Sometimes I don't, sometimes I do have an interest in seeing such ads.

Maybe they would be more acceptable if they were clearly marked as such. Or part of a new section in which references to commercial products and services are allowed. If such a section would come to be, I would like to see such a section called "Brewery" because of a lot of connotations. But mostly because the breweries associated with monasteries, were a link to the "real" world and as such a place where non-monastarians were able to buy the products and services from monks.

I disagree. This is certainly Perl related, and I appreciate seeing it here. I just found out about these classes from this node, and I might not have known about them otherwise.

This would make an interesting poll. (You saw it here first...) ;) I think it would be good to find out how many people would prefer not to have such announcements in the Monastery and come to some sort of consensus.
