...the Saint with no writeups is not a votebot...

Whether or not that Saint will fail the Turing Test ;-) or not, is not my concern. That Saint is not participating in any permanent manner, so who cares?

    Liz,
That Saint is not participating in any permanent manner, so who cares?

By whose definition are they not participating in any permanent manner? They are voting on the same nodes you are checking reputation for. They are considering nodes for deletion. They are voting on nodes to be deleted. This definately has a lasting effect on the Monastery. The fact that they have not asked any questions themselves, or added their own medition shouldn't count against them should it. So it boils down to not replying to other peoples nodes. One of the most respected Saints here at the Monastery is Erudil with a total of 13 writeups. One of them became part of the site documentation. I will quote:

.... then I would encourage you, my fellow Monasterians, to consider a vow of silence as I have done, speaking rarely and with words carefully chosen to edify and inform

Maybe this monk took those words to heart and just hasn't found anything worth saying. It doesn't mean they are not contributing in a lasting and meaningful way.

    Cheers - L~R

...This definately has a lasting effect on the Monastery...

      Good point.

But still, the XP of a Saint to me is only a very small part of the weighing when making an opinion on a node. And if that Saint never writes a node (which I meant with permanent manner, as opposed to chatting in the CB), I never need to know about this Saint's XP.

Guess it's too late for a vow of silence for me ;-)

      Liz
