You learn something every day made me wonder whether there shouldn't be a seperate place in the monastery where one could tell one's "revelations" or "Aha! Erlebnisse".

Just nodes about something that you learned recently and which changed the way you do things. With Perl. Or otherwise. Mostly just tiny bits. Not particularly in need of answers or review. But possibly of use to fellow monks with less real experience or virtual XP.

If such a place would be created, I would vote for having it named "Revelations".

Revelations doesn't seem to me different from Meditations; according to Perlmonks FAQ, Meditations is the right place for epiphanies (an illuminating discovery / a revealing scene or moment). Is it different from what you proposed?

    Ciao, Valerio

Perlmonks FAQ actually doesn't say anything about Meditations. It does mention "Meditations", but there is no link in there to anything. It was only with Super Search that I found 1 occurrence of the word epiphanies in the Monastery: Where should I post X?.

For some reason (and judging from the Meditations that I have seen the past few weeks), I figured Meditations were more contemplative (inviting further thought by other Monks) rather than just expressive (just telling the world what you're learned).

I guess I have learned something today. Too bad there aren't more epiphanies in Meditations.

I like your idea but it hardly could be implemented, because there already exist sections like "snippets", "code" and "Cool uses for perl" that could serve such purpose.

Mostly a problem that a person who will find a "Revelation" will place it into one of mentioned three sections (or will place it in "meditations", as people usually do).
A person who search a Revelation will never find it anyways.

Adding another section will add confusion, IMHO.

    addition:
I think that really should be done in this direction -- is better clarification of what and where people should post, so that posts could be sorted better.
Sometimes people post ordinary questions in "Meditation" section just because they exist longer on a first page of section and hence has more chances to be answered.
