Yeah, but the value of $^V is weird. I rather
prefer $] which holds a human readable value
of the version, and which can easily be compared with
floating numbers.
Perlvar suggest the use of $^V over $], because $^V compares so neatly with v-strings. However, it was recently decided (after getting Larry's blessing) that v-strings will die. (And there was much rejoicing). Abigail
