Okay, my mistake. I did not know you can see the time of each message.
As far as textfields are concerned, I'm still making mistakes; I just thought by switching to textarea, I could prevent some of those mistakes. About the character limit, why can't you use Javascript to alert if the input exceeds 255 characters?
