Voting Radio Buttons positioning?

Hello monks,

well.. maybe it's me and my laziness, but isn't it efforting to read posts and then have to scroll all the way back to vote? Well, I just think that it would be a bit easier if the voting radio buttons were at the bottom of the post, so I finish reading, and I click :). Just my two cents.

PS. If there's already an option to set this, please ignore this post and post a reply on where to do this, thanks =)

Silly thought: Radio buttons at the bottom of posts might induce some people to actually read the whole post before voting.

    This has come up before.

The vote buttons are between the heading of the node and the text of the node. I see no way to move them that would not result in confusion about which node the buttons are for (the one above or the one below). Even with lines, spacing, color changes, and/or labels, the association will not be as clear.

If you see a way to move them that you think is superior, then please work out all of the details and post exactly how you would do it with example HTML and people can comment on it.

Pardon for not finessing the tags for the ultimate in matching style; this is for illumination and discussion.

Lots of people go to user settings and turn on "null vote" and your solution doesn't scale well for this (nor for possible future voting expansions -- adding more types of votes).

Update: Your update is better. I still don't like the space restriction/requirement. I've been wanting to move the "reply" link out of that column already. But then, moving that out might provide a way to separate articles more clearly and so facilitate moving the vote buttons to the bottom.

But it certainly isn't a priority for me. Despite having gotten two gods added, patches are currently getting written rather faster than they can be applied.
