I would highly recommend Interchange 1 (http://www.icdevgroup.org). It's an e-commerce platform and it really pushes Perl to the limits:
* The best open source e-commerce app there is.
* Apache-style Preforking Daemon
* Has it's own language parser (ITL)
* Embedded perl anywhere (using Safe)
I don't think there is a feature of Perl that it *doesn't* use.
