Display the choice might be a good idea. Some people may wish to keep their vote pseudo-private (anyone with shell access to the server could probably figure out what you voted, anyway), so you should be given the option to not display it.
As for seeing the results, I think it's fine the way it is. It's not like PM is running elections for public office, and you should never take the results of on online poll too seriously.
