I'll stick with my cowl, as XXL is neither long nor wide enough for this monk

So, that's why all the free t-shirts I get at tech-company conferences/shows or as vendor gifts are XL! I'm definitely *not* an XL (barely 154cm, 53kg), so I have a drawerful or two of t-shirts that reach down to my knees and would fit two of me! So, please do appreciate the mini-techies out there.. Just because we can't see over the cubicles, doesn't mean we're not here! <sob> ;)

ME NITSUJ! Fe fi fo fum, I smell the blood of an englishman! Haw Haw Haw!

Just kidding guys ;-) But I'm a regular ogre, I hate when there are like, girls half my size at school (why o why) who grab the biggest shirts in the stack (fitting them like blankets mind you) and I end up with a shirt that I rip trying to fit into.

XXL - The only size for those who emulate Buddha with the belly... :), or as my fiance calls it, a Mt Dew gut.
Really dear, that's what it is. Mtn Dew. I didn't go to the bar with the guys. Why would I do a thing like that?
        ;) well, you know....

I've lived with Jaime since last August, and she's an amazing cook. I've put on about 20-25 lbs since she started feeding me.

Unless she puts me on a diet or I learn to say "No", I'm going to get bigger. I should really use that gym membership that I am paying for.

    hhhhhmmmmm.............
I am beginning to feel very insignificant here.
I would need a child's L inorder not to be swallowed up. Some of you I am sure have pre-teens that are taller than me! *smile*

Good point! Plus, I need child sizes for my daughter, and I imagine the New Little Monk is going to want a "PerlMonks onesie" shortly. :)

It depends if we are talking boys or girls sizes...if boys, then they are all huge and I would definately go for a small...if girls, then medium :) --Ivory
X-Small

I chose small only cause Extra-Small isn't an option...
I thought the T-Shirt were cowls for PerlMonks :)

I have large shoulders, but I was in a store in US (I'm from Brazil) and I decided to buy XL T-shirts bacusa of my big back, but when I got home, it was too big! AND the L i bought was to small. Don't you have something in the middle? I think that XL T-shirts was to BIG people, I mean Really big people.. :)
Funny. I'm average height (1.75m), only a bit overweight, and a XL fits rather well. (It's a GNU T-shirt I bought on a 25% discount from Richard Stallman when he was here in Rio. I guess the FSF takes "computer lab guts" into account when making those...) -- Kaufmann
I can only agree with you! L and XL are sizes for BIG people... XXL i can't talk about, 'cause I've never seen a t-shirt in this size!!

      Well, I use L t-shirts... :o)

    Brand

The size of the t-shirt based on L, XL, and such varies from brand to brand. If you want to make sure that the t-shirt fits, a lot of the time, the chest dimensions will be listed under the sizing information, telling you what chest measurements correspond with what size of t-shirt.

XL
by Nitsuj (Hermit) on Jul 24, 2000 at 20:57 UTC
I've only fit into XL and above since HS. All of my nice wrestling t-shirts and sweats still fit (it pays to lift when you're a teenager, you have big clothing for later). Of course, due to my consumption of beer and buffalo wings, I'll probably have to forgo these for XXL in the not to distant future.

I find that with many t-shirts, an XL becomes an L after a washing. Therefore I tend to get XXL, unless i can hand check the shirt for quality. high quality XL's typically wear OK post-wash, so if it's thin and 100% cotton, I go UP a size.

For instance, got a XXL from OpenBSD, it's a bit big after washing (hottest setting). I got an XL SuSE shirt, it's a bit tight in the shoulders after washing. Bought both over the net, if I coulda felt em, both would fit a bit better I suspect (XL OBSD and XXL SuSE).

Somewhere between XL and XXL is perfect, depending... ;-)

    I suspect y'all care, right?!?

Ha, I hope this vote is the beginning of a perl monks t-shirt collection ... (ok, one would do for a start ;-))

    Andreas

I would buy a perlmonks tshirt. XL, of course. Even though I'm a smallish guy, I like the comfort of an XL shirt.
