Nice to see a constructive reply :)

One more I'd add to the list is the module is free, Juerd didn't pay anything for it, he doesn't have to use it if he doesn't want to. A slight "namespace pollution" really doesn't hurt anything.

    Being "free" doesn't cut it. Samoneala, Maleria and the common cold are all free, but we do our best to not perpetuate them.

    Utilising the storage and system management facilities of CPAN is not free, nor is the time spent a analysing each module before using it, or for those poor souls that make the mistake of utilising badly broken modules, the cost of the errors that result or the clean up that would be required.
