I hate the P.
I love the BR.
In fact, I'm using it right now!
I don't know why, but I have never liked the P. I like it as a verb... very satisfying. But not as an HTML tag.

    Funny, I'm the opposite. <P> is a true markup tag in spirit while <br> is layout oriented, and since I have a metadata mania and try to keep data in machine consumption suitable form whenever possible I don't tend to use the latter much.

    Makeshifts last the longest.
