Perl6 Quick Reference

Folks,

a few days ago educated_foo posted this meditation and I thought I'd give it a try.

After a few hassles with the solaris compile- and link-system I finally had my Perl6 working.

Soon I realized I had forgotten almost everything written in the Apocalypses and Exegesises (?) and I knew what's missing.

A Perl6 Quick Reference!

Like the one for Perl5 on my desk.

So I started to compile one from the known sources.
It is early beta, lots of stuff is missing, something may be wrong, but it sure is worth a look!

Get it here and send all your comments, additions and fixes to me, either by /msg or to the email address on the web page.

Replies are listed 'Best First'.

First of all: well done! The more channels of information we can open for Perl 6, the better.

Second: you should probably also refer to (and point people at) bigal's Synopses, which will eventually cover much of the same ground, but in a form half way between our sprawling design documents and your compact pocket guide.

Third: expect an email with a slew of suggestions from me RSN. ;-)

You omitted to say where to send fixes too?

Here's one to satrt the ball rolling

@array[8]    The 7th element of an array

Presumably the 7 and 8 should swap places or 7 become 9.

Well It's better than the Abottoire, but Yorkshire!

There are two email addresses on the web page, take your choice.

Darn! You're right, pretty dumb error.
      Thank's for the fix.

I'll post a short reply to the first node whenever the Perl6 Quick Reference has changed.

It has grown much in the last few days.
Lots of corrections and additions have come from fellow monks.
The rtf version seems to be ok by now.
It has an index now, but no table of contents.

    Get it here.
