It's nice to know that you were able to answer your own question. Also, most folks around here hang out in the monastary either because they are looking for answers, because they have answers to give, or most commonly, both. Don't worry about asking questions that you think are probably "really stupid". If you are asking the question, it's probably not. That said, don't be worried or feel like you're not one of the Cool Kids if you get a few RTFM responses.

One of the things that we hope you find particularly useful about Perl (other than it's power, flexibility, idiomatic syntax and plans for world domination) is warm and helpful community. PerlMonks is here to help you up the learning curve. It's also here for after you've surpassed most other folk in your climb up the learning curve, to either help out or be helped or, most likely, both.

    Enjoy your stay,
      Douglas

Is red Hat Perl a good version for abilities or is it the same or worse? -Noob
