I'm told "cidaris" is either an Arab or Persian word for crown or king. In any case, it is the registered name of my semi-worthless Arabian gelding, who eats too much hay, costs too much money, and makes girls think I'm a nice guy.

It also appears to be part of the scientific name for a family of sea worms...
