Chatterbox Poll

by Basilides (Friar)
on Aug 07, 2002 at 08:51 UTC ( [id://188261]=monkdiscuss: print w/replies, xml ) Need Help??

Sorry if this isn't the place to post poll suggestions. I tried emailing jcwren, but I've not heard anything. What about:

How do you view the ChatterBox?
-Down the right of the screen
-Node 3184, displaytype=raw
-Java CB
-other

Apologies if this is an old poll.

Replies are listed 'Best First'.

A quick scan reveals that this hasn't been run before. That said, I think a couple of extra options are required, including (but not limited to):

    • framechat
    • The Default Node
    • Perl/Tk Chatterbox
    • Curses Chatterbox
    • Win32::GUI Chatterbox
    • Robomonk
    • pmchat
    • mchattk
    • AgentChat
    • Monktalk
    • RedWolf MonkChatter
    • Get chatbox lines
    • Get chatbox lines Gtk
    • homebrewed hack
    • /chatteroff

That way we'd get some really useful feedback :)

I pulled most of these links from ZZamboni's homenode and/or Chatterbox Clients. Go there for a description of what they do. And if you have written a client that does not appear on the latter link then send a message to the gods.

Depends on where I am and what I'm doing.

Previously, I used the Java Chatterbox almost all of the time. But now that I've switch to Mozilla, Java has proven unstable, so I don't rely on it as much.

As a result, my preference is the getchat.pl non-curses script that comes with the curses chatterbox. When that isn't available, I use node 3184.
