How to extract the font name from a .ttf file?

In an effort to show examples of all my fonts in an HTML file, I need to get the font reference names out of .ttf files.

    I can't be sure but Font::TTF::Name looks like what you not. (No sarcasm, it's not entirely clear that this will do what is required, it appears to be part of an Awfully Big Ball of Mud).

    On a side note you're bigger trouble is with fonts whose files are named things like cr___i.ttf As most modern TTF appear to be.
