in reply to More monk-ish terminology

While these titles go very cool in the style of the site, they will make it harder for the uninitiated to find their way around. If I see "FAQ" somewhere, I know that I should look there before asking stoopid questions. If I see "The Sacred Tomes", I don't know that this will contain answers to my burning questions.

So the sections must have names understandable to the "common folk", or we must update the Guide To The Monastery to include a translation and a content overview ...

You could default to it being off while you are of Novice level, and automagically switch over at Acolyte. By then you've spent enough time around the site to become immersed in the culture. Or, as buzzcuttbuddha mentions, you could just turn it on or off.

Since there is a sort of theme support, maybe you could choose the religion of your choice. Can I be a Reformed New Order Druid?

Having themes and setting the defaults for Anonymous Monk and any Novice (or maybe up until level 2-3, so people have something to earn ;) ) to "netspeak", and above to some themable thing would be quite cool.

About the theology/clergy question, I'd say either it would have to be complete themes from each kind of theology we come up with, or a mixture - which would both upset some people because "theirs" is not in or "in the wrong place" etc. - I'd like the themes approach better, as anyone can add easily descriptions for a new style of monastery.
