in reply to Is it possible for a monk to rename himself?

"If starting new creature, is it okay for a person to have more than one login name to monastery?"

As far as I can see, there's nothing to stop it. I don't think there is any way to garrantee this could/would be detected, so it becomes more of a personal issue.

How do you want to spend your time at the Monastery? As one identity or as several? Do you want to remember "who you are" before using the CB? Before posting a node? Or do you just want to be yourself?

"Does this fit to moral (and ethical:) rules?"

Whos moral? It's your own moral. Live by your own ethics and feel as good as it makes you.
Personaly I think it's not so much a question of if you should have multiple logins, but more of how you would use potential multiple logins.

"(not to mention that 100% sure those creatures will ++ each others)"

Again, it's very much up to your own moral and ethic. What about people who know each other. Do they ++ each other? It's up to everyones moral. And also very much up to how much you value the XP.

How would you feel to become a Saint, knowing that your best (?) friend has upvoted even your most silly nodes?
How would you feel to become a Saint, knowing that you upvoted all your postings yourself, using a second (or third?) login? Your call. But think before acting. Your consious will guide you.

Everything went worng, just as foreseen.

Good monk Biker makes some valid points about one person using multiple PerlMonk IDs, and I'd like to add just one thought.

In addition to considering his own personal ethics (conscience?), brother vkonovalov should also weigh the likely or possible response from fellow monks.   In the past, such actions have resulted in substantial ill will.   Feelings have gotten hurt, and a monk or two have even left in a huff.   I'm not saying that punitive reactions are necessarily good for the Monastery, mind you, just mentioning what I've seen in just over two years here.

Anyways, it looks to me like that's why Vadim asked.   8^)

Update: re: "In the past such actions..."
I didn't mean Vadim's actions, I meant people using multiple PerlMonk IDs, aside from the unusual cases mentioned elsewhere in this thread.   Sorry for any confusion.   There's doubtless more clear ways to express that thought, but my English As An Only Language isn't always the best.   8^P

Do you mean I injured someone recently?
      Or two years ago?

I honestly wish only best wishes to all people here! I am grateful to their quick help they usually give.

to add an item for having several IDs in monastery, I remember when in school time sometimes people used to have two diaries, one for good marks, and other for bad ones :)

      Best wishes,
      Vadim.
