Monks and nuns

Since I'm still a novice, I beg for your excuse for my question, which may have been discussed earlier. I simply want to know if the feamle monks of this monastery wouldn't prefere to be called nuns.

sincerely,

Johan, novice

I can't speak for the rest of the 'feamle' monks here, but what I would prefer to be called is along the lines of "Magnificent & Sublime All-Powerful Mistress of the Universe"

    Get thee to a nunnery.

If there are nunneries, there should be monkeries, too, while a monastery could be for either gender or for both. OTOH the word monkery reminds me of my visit to the zoo the other week.
