One of the things that makes Perl great is that not only will the major hackers admit when another language is better at somthing, they will often try to fix that... normaly by taking the other language's features, making them fit the Perl mindset, and hacking them in.

It's a testimate to the power of Perl (the language) how often these can be worked in without writing any C.
