Node reply count bug?

by Dog and Pony (Priest)
on May 18, 2002 at 12:21 UTC ( [id://167492]=monkdiscuss: print w/replies, xml ) Need Help??

Just now, while browsing Seekers of Perl Wisdom, I looked at and approved using XML::LIbXML to validate against a dtd and retrieve any errors therein, and I saw that it already had a reply. But when the page came back with the approved node listed, it says that it has 0 replies.

I've of course tried to refresh and such (but that couldn't be it when going from unapproved to approved), and I asked the chatterbox if they saw the same. There weren't many online, but at least ceedee saw the same thing.

You have moved into a dark place.
It is pitch black. You are likely to be eaten by a grue.

Replies are listed 'Best First'.

This has been a problem for almost every node I've seen on the PM front page. Could these numbers be cached?

There is currently a table to track number of replies. It is being phased out since calculating the number of replies directly is a simple, indexed query and doesn't suffer from bugs of getting out of sync. When that work is finished, such problems should disappear.
